Wonju DB, which is seeking to advance to the semi-finals (PO), will embrace Anyang Jeong Kwan-jang's championship match and Omari Spellman, who won the East Asian Super League (EASL).
A DB official said, "We are seeking to recruit Spelman players. Once the process such as visa issuance is completed, he will be able to play in the game."
Spellman, who arrived through Incheon International Airport on the same day, will lead DB's attack from inside and outside on behalf of Robert Carter.
DB is expected to significantly increase its offense by setting up a new lineup of foreign players with Chinanu Onuaku and Spellman.
DB, which won the regular league title last season, is struggling this season. Currently, it ranks sixth with 16 wins and 21 losses. It is competing with Busan KCC (15 wins and 22 losses), the defending champion, for sixth place, which is the last line to advance to the playoffs.
Spellman, who will add strength to the DB, is a former Villanova University in the U.S. and was a member of the NCAA Men's Basketball Division 1 winner in 2018 and also played for the NBA's Golden State Warriors.
Spellman, who joined Jeong Kwan-jang (KGC Ginseng Corporation at the time) in August 2021, has become the main gun of Jeong Kwan-jang at once, averaging 20.2 points, 10.3 rebounds, and a 3-point success rate of 36.5% in 43 regular league games in his debut season.
In the 2022-2023 season, he played in 51 games, recorded a slight drop in his record of 19.9 points, 9.9 rebounds, and a three-point success rate of 35.9%, but he played all 11 games of the semifinal playoff and championship game, helping Jeong Kwan-jang win.
In particular, Spellman, who averaged 18.9 points and 8.9 rebounds in seven games against the Champs, countered the opponent's main gun Jamil Warney in the offense and defense, contributing to Jeong Kwan-jang's victory over Seoul SK.
In the East Asian club-to-club competition EASL that season, he also won the championship after showing off his formidable power against domestic and foreign teams and was selected as the 온라인바카라 MVP of the tournament.
In a group match against San Miguel Biermann of the Philippines, he scored 53 points by scoring as many as 3 points and 12 shots.
However, after having difficulty controlling his weight and continuing injuries, Jeong Kwan-jang kicked Spellman out in December 2023.
As he was kicked out due to poor physical management, the key is Spellman's current condition and performance, returning to the KBL for the first time in 14 months.
Last year, Spellman played for Zenit St. Petersburg in the Russian league, which is better than KBL. Spellman played for about 23 minutes on average, scoring 10.7 points and 3.2 rebounds for Zenit.
